STAY FOR THE STORY: I wrote this on the road in Europe, where i spent four months backpacking through 10 countries on a sort of hip hop expedition away from all my friends and family. I didn’t write many songs on the road, but i did write this one. What’s really special about this all to me, is that the recording used on this song is the first take and first recording i did when i came back from that 4 month journey. There’s a certain roughness to my voice, i hadn’t been practicing much and i remember my voice was just another stranger on the street to me in that moment. And although i’ve grown as a vocalist since then, i decided to keep intact that energy. The feeling, of me refalling in love with the process of making music, recording music in my room, and sharing it with everyone i love. I missed my studio more than anything in the world. I’m grateful for the opportunity to create and have this space for myself to heal. I hope you find solace in this song, i wrote this as a sort of lullaby in regards to the darkness of the world. I love y’all, stay strong and fight fear!! Everything is going to be alright, i promise.
